There are plenty of good movies to watch when bored that can erase your boredom and give you an enjoyable experience.
Preparing to Watch Your Movie
Before sitting down to select and watch your movie, collect the following items to enhance the experience:

The Marathon, or, The Movie Quest
If you have plenty of time to kill and the stamina to sit through multiple films, consider having a movie marathon. There are many different types of marathons you could run. You could select a series of films, such as Star Wars, Rocky, or Lethal Weapon, and watch all the films of the series one after another. Or you could be more creative, perhaps watching movies from the oeuvre of a director. For instance, try watching the films of Steven Spielberg, perhaps running a marathon of:
- Jaws
- E. T. The Extra Terrestrial
- Jurassic Park
- Saving Private Ryan
- Munich
What is fun about this method is that you can analyze a director's work over time as his or her craft matures. You can thus make movie watching into something more than mindless entertainment.
One other fun idea for a marathon, if you enjoy the fantasy genre, is to go on the "Lord of the Rings Quest." Make sure you have all three 'extended edition' films. Watch them one after another - the total running time will be around 12 hours. By the end of the third movie, you will feel as if you went on the quest with Frodo and the gang - hence calling this marathon a 'quest.'
